Christian Rangen, our veteran SWS mentor will be giving the opening keynote speech this year, titled, "Kick-ass: Making Disruptive Innovation Work For You"

Christian is the co-founder and partner in Engage Innovate – a Scandinavian management consulting company. He teaches a range of executive development programs regularly at BI Stavanger. He is also the co-author of three management books. Christian is also the happy owner of the boutique hotel and management camp -Villa Vista Taiba in Ceara, Brazil.

William Taliaferro

Deputy Counselor, Political and Economic Affairs, U.S. Embassy in Oslo

William Taliaferro is the Deputy Counselor for Political & Economic Affairs at the U.S. Embassy in Oslo, with overall responsibility for economic, trade, energy, and environmental issues.

Prior to joining the diplomatic service in 2001, Mr. Taliaferro spent a decade working with technology start-up companies in Silicon Valley. He was a founding employee and director of marketing at Corsair Communications, a vice president at TSI Communications, and an independent consultant for start-up companies. He has also taught literature and philosophy at Berkeley and Stanford, and holds degrees from The Johns Hopkins University and the University of California at Berkeley.

Mr. Taliaferro will deliver the closing plenary on Sunday titled, "Count It Like Dog Years - Life in a Startup".

Martin Schorling Overgård

Martin Overgård will be giving a talk titled "Business Modeling 101" on Saturday.

Martin is an entrepreneur, a passionate ”Ideator ” and a business developer. His expertise is in the early stages of innovation where new opportunities can be explored and ideas developed. Martin is an entrepreneur who sees opportunities everywhere. He started his first business when he was 17 and has been involved in startups ever since.

During his studies as Business Development Engineer (DK) and Master of Management (AUS), Martin was part of several startups and competions. He is currently co-founder and CEO at Sputnik5, where he does Innovation Consultancy, Process Design and Business Development. Martin has designed and facilitated innovation processes and entrepreneurship workshops all over the world. Furthermore he is in the jury of Danish Venture Cup and ad-hoc mentor to the teams.

Mátyás Kolsofszki

Karl Johnny Hersvik

Senior Vice President, Statoil Research and Development division

Karl Johnny Hersvik has been the Senior vice president of Statoil’s Research and Development division since January 2011. With an annual budget of NOK 3,2 mrd (2013) and 800 employees in Norway, USA, Canada, Brazil and China the RDI division is providing Statoil with research and technology competence to crack existing and future technology codes.

Hersvik is from Bergen and holds a Cand. Scient. degree in Industrial Mathematics from the University of Bergen. Prior to joining Statoil in 1998 he was a co-founder of several IT start ups. Since 1998 he has held many professional and management positions in Statoil including Chief Reservoir Engineer, Subsurface Operations Manager. He has also had several positions in business development, including Vice President and Project Lead for the West Qurna project in Iraq and Vice President for Production Technology.

Karl Johnny is a part of the advisory board of Energy Venture and Chairman of the OG21 initiative formed by the Norwegian Ministry for Oil and Energy and tasked with setting the strategy for the national effort within oil and gas technology. He is also a member of several industry - academia collaboration boards and Vice Chairman of the board of the Norwegian Academy of Science.

Siv Juvik Tveitnes

Siv took up her position as CEO of Aftenbladet only 2 months ago. She came from her position as CFO and HR Director in Bergens Tidende, (where she was also acting CEO). She also has experience as a project director in Schibsted Norge. In the early days of her career Juvik Tveitnes worked as a consultant in Accenture and Bekk Consulting, before she started in the media industry. The connecting red thread in her career is project work, leading editorial as well as commercial projects and processes. Her experience has given her a sound knowledge about the position of the regional newspapers and the challenges they are facing in today's media environment.
Siv Juvik Tveitnes holds a cand.mag. degree in Media Studies, Psychology and Business Administration and a Masters degree in Business and Management from the University of Bath, England.

Sigurd Paulsen

Investment Director

Since 2007, Sigurd has been an investment director with Statoil ASA responsible for Statoil’s equity ownership positions in 35+ oil/gas/renewable technology companies. He has extensive investment and divestment experience as the previous Head of Statoil Corporate M&A as well as responsibility for Statoil’s pension fund investments in private equity funds. Mari S. Espedal

Mari S. Espedal was appointed Communications Director of Skretting Group in 2011. Before joining the fish feed industry, she held various leading branding and communication positions in other international industries such as medical equipment, oil&gas and design/china.

She has an executive MBA in Brand Management from the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration as well as a Master of Management program in Innovation and Commercialization from the Norwegian Business School. Jøran Orstad Johnsen

Jøran Orstad Johnsen is an adviser at Innovation Norway, working in the areas of entrepreneurship, tourism, agriculture and local food. Before joining Innvoasjon Norway, he worked at Måltidets House. He has a masters degree in Entrepreneurship and Innovation from UMB and a Bachelor of Management from BI. Eivind Gransaether

CEO, Mirmorax AS

Eivind Gransaether is founder and CEO of Mirmorax AS, an industry leader in sampling, monitoring and processing solutions to the oil & gas industry. From starting the company in 2009, it has now grown to a company with a global reach and offering multiple technology products.

Eivind is from Trondheim and holds a MSc degree in Marine Science & Subsea Engineering from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim on which he has based his engineering and subsea career. His management education started at Solstrand YL and continued with an MBA in Strategic Leadership from NHH/HEC/NUS.

Before starting Mirmorax, Eivind was Commercialization Manager and Subsea Engineering Manager at Roxar, now part of global Fortune 200 company, Emerson. In his role as Commercialization Manager, Eivind was responsible for the commercialization of new innovations within technology, software and services systems and bringing these products to market. His global experience in oil and gas started in Roxar in subsea technology development. He then moved into management of sales in Houston followed by managing the Europe & Africa region from London, where he led a highly qualified sales force and was responsible for all commercial and administrative activity.

Eivind was also co-founder of co-founder, board member, Chairman of Smarthaus AS, working in the field of advanced reliability analyses software.

In 2010 Eivind won the L A Enger Innovation Award for most promising innovation by Polyteknisk Forening based on this patented sampling technology.
