Ok, nothing borrowed, nothing blue. This is not working.
What did work wonderfully, was the SWS mentor-jury lunch on the 12th of March, where the veteran mentors met the new mentors and a new jury member joined our team for lunch
The distinguished panel of judges was ably represented by Siv Juvik Tveitnes, CEO of Stavanger Aftenblad. Siv is a senior in her industry, but new to the Stavanger region. It was great hearing her hold forth about the challenges faced by the print media, touching upon the importance of innovative thinking in fast-changing times.
In the mentor group, Gunnar Crawford and Sigurd Paulsen represented the old guard (Christian Rangen was unable to attend) and they willingly shared their experiences with the new mentors, Mari S. Espedal, Communications Director for the Skretting Group and Jøran Orstad Johnsen, Adviser at Innovation Norway. Mari brings valuable management and communications competence to SWS, while Jøran brings his experience from supporting entrepreneurship efforts at Innovation Norway.
For the organizing team of SWS, it’s terrific to see that between this stellar group of jury and mentors, we have all the selected themes and the requisite competencies covered to best nurture the ideas that make it to Startup Weekend Stavanger. Competent mentors with their eye on the ball have proven to be critical to the progress and success of presented projects.
We, at SWS, are just super lucky to have such a great team of professionals on board with us.
